In March 2010 Daniela was awarded one of four presitigious Finzi Scholarships; it allowed her to visit Matanzas where she went on a research trip May 2010. The trip was a focus on Spiritual Song in Matanzas. Stage one of the project was the research trip in Matanzas. She was very blessed to have interesting conversations and workshops with Maikel regarding songs from the Orisha and Palo traditions, work alongside in a couple of ceremonies with Alfredo Calvo, interview from the Munquitos de Matanzas and Interview and learn a couple of Arara songs from and lastly songs fro the Espiritismo tradition with Galvez from Cajon Siete Potencias. Stage 2 was the teaching of the songs to the Choir. Stage 3 was the recording of the CD which was not funded by the Finzi trust.
